The Prudential RideLondon, a festival of cycling, is now in its third year. Developed by the Mayor of London and his agencies, the festival will take place this year over the first weekend of August.
The goal of Prudential RideLondon is to encourage people to cycle carefully and more often. This is in collaboration with the Major and the Transport for London (Tfl). As part of RideLondon, both amateur and professional cyclists complete a 100-miles long cycle from London to Surrey.
If the last two years were anything to go by, the atmosphere at the RideLondon is electric. The more professional and serious cyclers take their positions at about 5-5:30 am to beat the crowds. For those who are more amateur and light hearted about the cycle, any start after 6:15 am is fun and relaxed.
RideLondon is a very unique event. No other closed road event combines a family friendly element in central London, with the main moments captured live on UK and international TV. With the success of the first two events and the anticipation rife for the third event, the goal for Prudnential to be a leading cyclist event looks set to be a reality. Whether you want to cheer the cyclists on from the sidelines or partake in the event itself Q Apartments offer a brilliant serviced apartment accommodation providing comfort and luxury.
